Introducing the Islanders.
Working on Love Island Series 5 and 6 in stunning locations like Majorca and South Africa was nothing short of a whirlwind adventure.
As part of a dynamic 10-person Digital team, I took on the role of lead shooting Producer/Director. My responsibilities spanned creating bespoke social content featuring the new islanders, tailored for both ITV and commercial partners. Alongside this, I managed the entire editing workflow and oversaw two editors dedicated to producing the high-impact cast announcement videos.
These videos are crucial—they serve as the audience’s very first introduction to the new cast and often rack up over 10 million views. So yeah, no pressure at all!
Fun first.
The Love Island audience is young, fun-loving, and always up for a laugh—so my approach to digital content was simple: fun first. If both the cast and crew were genuinely enjoying themselves while making it, that energy would always shine through on screen.
One of my favourite examples of this is a concept I pitched featuring Sean Paul 'presenting' the weather. I was asked to come up with a creative way to announce his upcoming appearance on the show. I explored the overlap between Sean Paul's personal brand and the Love Island tone—and landed on a common theme: temperature.
The result? A playful weather report with Sean Paul at the helm. I commissioned a pun-filled script from one of our writers, then directed, shot, and edited the final piece—bringing the concept to life from idea to delivery.
