Reading and Leeds: A Rite of Passage

One of the standout highlights of my career was producing, directing, and editing a 30-minute documentary for BBC iPlayer, commissioned by Radio 1, featuring incredible artists like Foals, Rina Sawayama, Easylife, and Mimi Webb.

From scripting the concept and pitching it to the artists’ management, to casting and coordinating with key stakeholders, I was hands-on every step of the way. I led a talented crew of nine across two festival sites, directing on-location shoots, lighting and capturing intimate master interviews, and guiding both talent and contributors.

The post-production process was just as intense — I took charge of the edit while overseeing colour grading, sound mixing, and motion graphics to ensure the final documentary was as compelling visually and emotionally as the stories it told. This project really pushed my skills and remains one of my proudest achievements.
